Guru Knife Fight has been an on-again off-again project between Basico and Nato since their first encounter in the hills of Vista, CA. The recipe finally became palatable in early ‘18 when the two discovered the god ratio to the special sauce. Every recording was a live take, rough around the edges and only existing in that moment. Chops deleted to make more space, loops lost. Eugene is an exercise is intuition and learning to let go. Guru Knife Fight is essentially a form of capoeira just performed by two guys who have never done capoeira.
